Jan Willem Plantagie is a Managing Director and Standard & Poor's Regional Head for the Middle East based in Dubai. In this role he leads S&P's strategy and manages and coordinates S&P's operations in the region that include Ratings, Fund Management Ratings, Data Services, Risk Management Products and Indices with a main focus on the GCC. Prior to this role Jan Willem has been a member of the Infrastructure Finance group for nearly 10 years and prior to setting up the S&P office in Dubai he was a Managing Director in Standard & Poor's Infrastructure Finance Ratings group based in Frankfurt. In this position he headed up a team focusing primarily on Project Finance, Public Private Partnerships and Transport Infrastructure credits in the region of Europe, Middle East and Africa. He worked on the development of criteria for project finance and transport infrastructure entities and has been an analyst of a large number of airports, rail companies, PPPs & projects and utilities. He has also been integrally involved in rating projects in the Middle East. Jan Willem has also worked in Standard & Poor's London and New York offices. Prior to joining Standard & Poor's, Jan Willem worked for the Sakura Bank Limited, both in their Brussels and London office in the field of project and corporate finance.
